Texas SandFest 2026 Volunteer Signup

Hello Texas SandFest Volunteer,
We hope this message finds you well! We are excited to announce that volunteer registration is now open for the 2026 Texas SandFest, the Largest Beach Sand Sculpture Competition in the USA. This event celebrates creativity, culture, and community against the beautiful backdrop of Port Aransas Beach. All proceeds go to local non-profits and scholarships.

Important Dates:

  • Texas SandFest: April 17th - 19th
  • Volunteer Signups Close: April  3rd
  • Set-up: April 6th - 16th 
  • Tear Down: April 20th
  • Event Location: Port Aransas - On the beach between markers 12 & 17
  • Volunteer Welcome Location: On the beach at near Marker 17 
  • Volunteer Parking: Gracies Way (Just off Access Road 1A)

Please take a moment to read the instructions and information below before signing up to volunteer.

If you received a password, please enter it before selecting a job or entering your information. The password box is just below the Important Dates section.

Instructions:

1. Select the job you want, and the available days and shifts will appear (please note that some jobs have age requirements and/or require a valid driver's license). If you want to see a brief job description, click "description" next to the time. For additional information on a particular job, please email the volunteer coordinator. If a specific job does not appear, it is fully staffed.

2. Click on the check box next to the date and time of the shift you would like to work. You may select multiple jobs, days, and shifts. If a particular day and/or time does not appear, it has been filled.

3. Once you have selected all your shifts, please complete your information and read and sign the waiver. A parent or guardian must complete and sign the waiver section for those under 18. Please ensure your phone number and email are correct, as these are how you will be contacted. 

4. If you selected any job with (21+, 25+ & DL) or (Medical Certification) after the job title,  you must provide additional information,  upload the appropriate documentation, and verify your age.

18+ = Must be 18 or older

21+ = Must be 21 or older

25+ = Must be 25 or older

DL = Must have a valid driver's license 

Information you should be aware of before signing up to volunteer at Texas SandFest:

  • The minimum age to volunteer is 14.

  • This event is outdoors; almost all jobs involve working in the sun and elements, including heat, wind, and rain.

  • Most jobs require standing and/or walking for most of the shift.

  • Shifts are about 5.5  hours.

  • Some jobs require lifting and moving various items. Please check the job description.

  • While we will do everything in our power to place you in the job you signed up for, there may be instances where we will need to assign you to a different job or task.

  • An email will be sent about 5 days before your scheduled shift(s), including where to report to and what to expect.

  • Only those who have signed up may volunteer, and walk-up volunteers are not accepted. 

  • Flip-flops or shoes MUST be worn at all times while volunteering.

  • There is NO place to leave your belongings, food, or medicine, so please bring only items you can keep on you.

  • Texas SandFest is NOT responsible for lost or stolen items

Port Aransas ISD students may NOT volunteer during regular school hours!

  • The following ONLY applies to current Port Aransas ISD students. Marlins, please note some changes for this year. Marlins may only select days/shifts under the two jobs listed as "Marlins ONLY!"   When you sign up, you will still pick a day(s) and shift(s) to volunteer as in the past, but you will no longer choose specific jobs, as these will be assigned to you after you check in for your volunteer shift(s). Please sign up with your personal email, not a shared email with a parent or your school email,  if you plan to volunteer after you graduate.  

If you are a high school student who does not attend Port Aransas ISD or is homeschooled, please email the Volunteer Coordinator for information.

Incentives: 
  • All Volunteers will receive a t-shirt, a meal ticket during the event, and access to the event.  
  • As a special thank-you to volunteers who sign up and work three or more shifts during Texas SandFest, they will be automatically entered for a chance to win a TurtleBox Ranger ($250.00 value).
Terms & conditions: 
  • Sign up online for three or more shifts AND work those three or more full shifts during Texas SandFest on April 17 - 19, 2026. 
  • Sunday afternoon shifts count as two shifts. 
  • Check in AND check out at the Volunteer Welcome area for each shift worked. There will be other raffle tickets for smaller items available to all volunteers who complete a shift. 
  • The winners will be drawn by May 2, 2026.

Who is this registration for?

I do hereby represent that:

1. I recognize and appreciate the dangers and risks inherent in volunteering for Texas SandFest.
2. I am submitting this release and waiver of liability declaration voluntarily and of my own free will.
3. I have no physical or emotional problems, nor any history thereof, that will impair my ability to volunteer for Texas SandFest.
4. I hold harmless and agree to indemnify Texas SandFest, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and volunteers from all claims, liabilities, and damages I may sustain from any bodily injury, personal injury, or property damage that may occur from any cause, including negligence, before, during, or after any festival event in which I participate as a volunteer.
5. I irrevocably grant Texas SandFest and its agents the exclusive right to use my name, likeness, photos, or reproductions thereof for any purposes, including promotion, advertising, or other purposes.
6. I acknowledge that I have read and understand all the information posted at the top of this page, including the section titled "Instructions and Information You Should Be Aware of Before Signing Up to Volunteer at Texas SandFest," as well as all information included on the Volunteer page of the Texas SandFest website: texassandfest.org/volunteer.
7. I acknowledge that I have read and understand this entire waiver of liability and release, and I, along with my family, guardian, and/or heirs, agree to be legally bound by its terms.
